About Me
Award-winning visual storyteller with over 15 years of experience as a television news photojournalist in major markets including Portland, Denver, Seattle and Minneapolis, I am widely known in the industry as “Sully” and bring expertise in the craft of visual storytelling. My work has earned national recognition, including honors from the National Press Photographers Association and Edward R. Murrow Awards, along with 18 Regional Emmy Awards and three Telly Awards.
I was a national finalist for the NPPA Ernie Crisp Television News Photographer of the Year award six times in seven years and was named NPPA Runner-Up Photographer of the Year in 2017.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism, with a minor in English, from the University of South Alabama — an education that continues to shape the way I tell stories through video, photography and writing, fueling what drives and motivates me every day — the art of storytelling.
“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.”
